About 500 Ladies were entertained by the Four's Company Performance Choir last night at the Mitre 10 Ladies Night in Napier. Along with shopping and Celebrity spotting, the shoppers were entertained by the Choir singing a range of songs right in the middle of the massive store. Thanks to Mitre 10 Mega Napier for the opportunity.

Tim is a born and bred Hastings local Optometrist and Director at Visique Shattky on Russell. He performed lead roles while at Havelock North High School and did performance level speech and drama, and high level Piano as well as dabbling in playing the Saxophone. Sweeney Todd was his first production since high school, in which he played the Italian Barber - Segnor Pirelli, with gusto, and infused this colourful character with his own special brand of charm and wit. He has also been part of Amahl and the Night Visitors and is a versatile member of the Four's Company Performance Choir is which he sings both Tenor and Bass. Lisa has been in shows since she was 9 years old when she got the lead role in Oliver at her local dancing school. She has been involved with her family in Chorus and leading parts in several Musicals and Pantomimes in her hometown of Hanmer Springs during her teens. She also sang in school and community choirs and played Grade 6 Clarinet in local bands. Lisa was persuaded back into the theatre in Hastings when she joined as a chorus member in Amahl and the Night Visitors and then as the Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd. She has been a member of the Performance choir from nearly its inception and loves singing in the Alto section with some cameos with the Sopranos. Olive Purdie joined Four's Company Choir for the Movie Madness Summer in the Park Concert and continued performing with the group when she won the role of the manipulative and seducing spinster Mrs Lovett, in the Operetta Sweeney Todd. Since first stepping on stage at age 3, she fed the acting bug with school performances including Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat, and in the One Act Play Festivals for Porirua Little Theatre and Wellington Stagecraft Theatre in her teens. A move to Wairarapa saw her perform in Dancing at Lughnasa, Steel Magnolias, and Anyone for Murder at Harlequin Theatre. Now at home in Hawke's Bay, Olive has appeared in a number of productions for both the Napier Repertory Theatre and Theatre Hawke's Bay including About Alice, Noises Off, The 23 Year Old Escort, Music Man and Stiff. She has also appeared in Four's Company's Amahl and the Night Visitors with her young son Tom, and is a valuable member of the Four's Company Performance Choir and the Four's Company Performance Art's Board. Lisa Eagle (Four's Company) For the Four's Company Christmas concert with the Hawkes Bay Symphony Orchestra, we will be singing some songs written by the composer John Rutter.
He is a British composer, probably most famous for writing Choral pieces for the Royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton. He also wrote a piece for the Queen's Golden Jubilee. The music he writes is beautiful and polyphonic, but extremely tricky to learn. The Bases, and Tenors are having a work out! We are also singing a three part song written just for female voices which is starting to sound amazing. We love a challenge and these songs are going to be a treat to hear backed by the Orchestra. Lisa Eagle ( Four's Company Member) Thanks to everyone who supported the Four's Company Garage sale on Saturday. Lots of sales and yummy muffins too! We have a busy couple of months coming up. In a few weeks we have the Waipukurau Music Society concert followed closely by the Mitre 10 Mega Ladies night. Then in December the Performance Choir will be in the centre of Hastings every Saturday singing Christmas songs as well as working with the Hawkes Bay Orchestra for the Glorious Christmas Concert. Don't forget to check the Upcoming Shows and Concerts page on the web site to keep up to date with information on these great events. What will next year bring?? Lisa Eagle (Four's Company Member) Four's Company is having a Monster Garage Sale as fundraiser. It is this Saturday 10th November in the Carpark at 301 Railway Road, Hastings. There are some awesome items for sale including Designer clothes, Golf clubs, artwork, toys, kids games, household items and more. There will also be a sausage sizzle and baking stall. Antonio Della Barca Antonio is a highly musical young man who has been a member of Four's Company since it's conception. He has a beautiful Tenor voice and a high knowledge of all things musical. Antonio is a pupil of Amanda Cooper and has just sat and passed his Grade 7 Royal Schools Of Music piano exam on Thursday. He learns everything he plays by heart.....including the three pieces he played for his exam. Antonio is only 16 years of age but is looking at carrying on his love of music at university, when he completes High School at the end of next year. Phoebe Chenery and Taylor Vercoe Phoebe and Taylor are also founding members of Four's Company.I was privileged to meet these two young ladies at Heretaunga Intermediate School where they were a part of all things musical that we did....singing....dancing...acting....playing musical instruments. Phoebe is 16 and has sat her grade 5 theory exam. She plays piano and guitar beautifully and has a gorgeous singing voice. Phoebe is also a talented actor, she played Toby in our production of Sweeney Todd last year. Taylor is also a highly musical 17 year old.....she has a powerful singing voice that I am sure will take her a long way in the future. She is also a dab hand at the Ukulele, an instrument that she performs with regularity.Taylor dances as well and has been in many roles over the past few years both at school and for amateur theatre. It has been a true honour to be a part of helping Antonio, Phoebe and Taylor grow and develop their musical talents over the years. Carol Della Barca (Four's Company Director) Four's Company Performance Choir had about twice the number of audience today compare to last years Napier Century Music society concert. We now have a loyal fan base that comes along to our concerts. Thanks to them for their support and the standing ovation at the end! Although singing "When you Believe" again as the requested encore was a big sing after an hours performance. Thanks for having us Napier and we look forward to next years concert. Lisa Eagle ( Four's Company Member) Four's Company is lucky to have as a guest artist Antonio Della Barca at this weekends Napier Music Society Concert. Antonio will be playing two piano pieces as well as singing as part of the Four's Company Performance Choir. He also happens to be the son of our conductor Carol Della Barca. We will also be having Taylor Vercoe and Phoebe Chenery sing a duet with the Choir backing them. These talented members of our group are all still in High School and it is fantastic to be able to see them perform. Get their autographs before they get famous! Lisa Eagle ( Four's Company Member) |
