Four's Company have been asked by the Hastings Business Association to dust Hastings city with Christmas Cheer during the Saturday mornings of December. We will be singing and performing in the Centre of Hastings on the 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd of December. Will we be in our usual performance garb? Or will there be elves and reindeer in our Choir? Come and support us while doing your Christmas shopping in Hastings City Centre. Lisa Eagle ( Four's Company Member) We have had confirmation that the Four's Company performance for the Waipukurau Music Society is on the 25th November at 2pm. It will be at St Mary's Church on St Mary's Road in Waipukurau. Directions are as follows - from Hastings When you come into town from across the bridge, cross the intersection with the main street (Ruataniwha St) and carry straight on, and turn right into St Mary's Road. The Waipukurau Primary School is on the corner. The church is on the left at the top of the hill. Cost of entry is $15 general public, $8 Music Society Members and $5 for students. We are looking forward to this concert and meeting up with the Waipuk Music society again. Lisa Eagle ( Four's Company Member) We have been sent some great photos from Andrea Taaffe of the Hastings City Business Association from when some of Four's Company turned into Sherpas and Mountaineers for the Hastings Business Awards in July of this year.
This was a really fun experience of getting into different characters and coping with the icy extremes of the Hastings Opera House Atrium. Lisa Eagle ( Four's Company Member) We are getting excited about the next month with the opportunity to perform for the Century Music Society in Napier on Sunday 4th November, and then later in the month for the Waipukurau Music Society on Sunday 25th November. We have loved being able to perform for these great groups of people over the last few years as it has been a great way of showcasing the way Four's Company has grown, developed and changed through out the year. The Napier performance will be held at the Napier Baptist Church on Riverbend Road in Onekawa, with only a gold coin donation entry. Time is yet to be confirmed but keep checking the Upcoming Shows and Concerts page on the web site for more details as they emerge. We will also be updating details of the Waipukurau Concert when time and venue are confirmed. Lisa Eagle ( Four's Company Member) We have just had confirmation that the Four's Company Performance Choir will be singing at the Mitre 10 Mega's Ladies Evening in late November. We will be at the Napier Mitre 10 Mega on Wednesday 28th November from 6.30pm. Come and enjoy in store product demonstrations, while we perform our favourites and a few Christmas numbers too! Lisa Eagle ( Four's Company Member) After recovering from the awesome performance of the Not Just Jazz concert and letting my throat get back to normal. I was amped to start learning some new music. Being a Tenor who has to fill in the Basses some times, means I get to switch roles and this keeps me on my toes. Audience folks may notice my subtle shuffle closer to the Basses when I sing Bass :-) With new recruits in our midst this week, enthused to join us following our exciting performances over the last month, we have increased numbers in the Tenors section, which means for our up coming Christmas Concert "Glorious Christmas 2" I will be singing Bass. Cool. The neat thing about new music that one hasn't heard before, means that as we learn it, the nuances and harmony's unfold in front of you. On Tuesday night rehearsal running through the first song 'Angels Carol' just 2 times revealed how beautiful this music is. I am looking forward to the final sound with gentle basses and smooth tenors getting a really wonderful tone to a touching story artfully composed by John Rutter, that's not to mention the pretty sops and lovely altos we have too (love you gals), but I guess I am the kinda guy that loves the deep resonance sounds of the lower register. Blog ya later, Tim Eagle, Tenor dressed as a Bass Fours Company Member Four's Company Last Performance of Not Just Jazz - Thanks to Kim Chenery
