After recovering from the awesome performance of the Not Just Jazz concert and letting my throat get back to normal. I was amped to start learning some new music. Being a Tenor who has to fill in the Basses some times, means I get to switch roles and this keeps me on my toes. Audience folks may notice my subtle shuffle closer to the Basses when I sing Bass :-) With new recruits in our midst this week, enthused to join us following our exciting performances over the last month, we have increased numbers in the Tenors section, which means for our up coming Christmas Concert "Glorious Christmas 2" I will be singing Bass. Cool. The neat thing about new music that one hasn't heard before, means that as we learn it, the nuances and harmony's unfold in front of you. On Tuesday night rehearsal running through the first song 'Angels Carol' just 2 times revealed how beautiful this music is. I am looking forward to the final sound with gentle basses and smooth tenors getting a really wonderful tone to a touching story artfully composed by John Rutter, that's not to mention the pretty sops and lovely altos we have too (love you gals), but I guess I am the kinda guy that loves the deep resonance sounds of the lower register. Hey everyone , I am one of the newcomers singing with the tenors who has seen your concert and I am really excited about being part of the Christmas show coming up if all goes well . You are an awesome bunch of singers and I am looking forward to learning with you. Am so pleased that I saw Not Just Jazz as the quality of the sound as several others also commented, was superb. I am telling all my singing friends to come along and see what you do, so hopefully you will have some more enthusiastic members .
